Gendered Violence in the Borderlands

The speak­ers for the 2013 win­ter quar­ter are focus­ing on top­ics rel­e­vant to gen­dered vio­lence in the bor­der­lands. Sem­i­nar par­tic­i­pants ques­tion the con­nec­tion between border-making and vio­lence against women, the rela­tion­ship between fem­i­nism and nation­al­ism, and the reifi­ca­tion of bor­ders through pop culture.
