Erin Ward-Ciesielski’s Bio

Erin is cur­rently a doc­toral stu­dent work­ing with Dr. Mar­sha Line­han.  Her research inter­ests are related to devel­op­ing and eval­u­at­ing effec­tive inter­ven­tions for sui­ci­dal indi­vid­u­als, fac­tors pre­vent­ing indi­vid­u­als from seek­ing men­tal health treat­ment, and atti­tudes toward sui­cide and sui­cide sur­vivors.  Her dis­ser­ta­tion study is a ran­dom­ized con­trolled trial com­par­ing two brief, one-time inter­ven­tions for sui­ci­dal indi­vid­u­als who are not engaged in men­tal health treatment.

Erin received her bachelor’s degree from Indi­ana Uni­ver­sity South Bend.  There she com­pleted an hon­ors the­sis under Dr. John McIn­tosh exam­in­ing atti­tudes toward ther­a­pists who have lost patients to suicide.
