Safari contents change/temporary outage

We are in the process of migrating our Safari subscription from the O’Reilly latest 3 years imprints to a custom collection of 107 books from multiple publishers. In order to swap these collections, we currently have no access to Safari. This situation will likely persist into next week while various people are working on selection and records.

Proquest platform migration

The Proquest platform migration has begun. This process will take several weeks, and should be wrapped up by midway through the long Interim.

Record changing began August 23 for the 30+ databases in the catalog and digital registry.

All Proquest and CSA databases are migrating to the new platform and

selected Chadwyck-Healy databases. The rest of the Chadwyck-Healy databases

will migrate “later” (no date estimate).

!!ALL DATABASE AND INDIVIDUAL TITLE ACCESS URLS ARE CHANGING!!

See the Staffweb page for further information and a link to a spreadsheet of databases and their old/new urls.

If you maintain a subject page, you should go ahead and begin using the new

urls.

For an undetermined length of time, but at least into early 2012, Proquest

will use a url re-direct from old urls to the new ones, so users should not

encounter dead links in the near term.

Change to access url: SimplyMap

SimplyMap has now migrated to version 2.0.

If you have libguides or webpages pointing to SimplyMap, please update the access url as follows:

OLD: http://simplymap.com/index.php

NEW: http://sm2.simplymap.com

New platform features:

* New easier to use, intuitive multi-tab interface

* Innovative interactive wizards for maps and reports

* Boolean searching to quickly find data variables

* Organize your work using tags

* Easily share your work with any SimplyMap user in the country

* Powerful data filters can now be applied to both maps and reports

* More export options

*Faster performance

User guide available on request. Training will be available mid-October.
