All incoming students will be assigned a temporary faculty advisor later this summer, after admissions has been finalized. This usually takes place toward the end of August, or early Sept. You will then arrange to meet with your advisor between Sept. 16 (when faculty are back on payroll after the summer) and the beginning of the quarter (Sept. 25), to go over your program plan for the year.
You can go ahead and register for classes when you are able (PMP students will register through PCE — see the PMP Information Category in this blog), all others will register through MyUW on or after your registration date. You can choose classes from your area of interest, and anything 400–500 level is generally OK. After you meet with your faculty advisor you can make changes to your schedule if needed during the first week of the quarter without any late fees.
Note: Full-time study for graduate students is 10 Credits.
