At the end of June 2013, we migrated to a new and improved library system for finding books, articles, and more. The new UW Libraries Search makes it easier for you to find the information and materials you’re looking for at the University of Washington Libraries and beyond.
This migration is part of a major cooperative effort of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a consortium of 37 academic libraries across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, of which the University of Washington Libraries is a member. As a consortium, we share services, technologies, and collections, and this move from 37 systems to a single shared library system is a hallmark of our collaboration. By sharing one system, we’ll improve the research experience for our students and faculty and better manage all of our resources. The University of Washington Libraries is one of the first institutions to move to this new environment, and we’re committed to providing the same excellent service throughout the implementation. Throughout the process, we have been consulting with the Faculty Council on University Libraries for their feedback and suggestions.
