Welcome to Winter Quarter 2014

Uni­ver­sity of Wash­ing­ton Eth­no­mu­si­col­ogy fac­ulty members Patri­cia Camp­bell, Shan­non Dud­ley, Ter Elling­son, and Christina Sunardi, archivist Lau­rel Ser­combe, and secretary Michiko Sakai welcome returning students to Winter Quarter 2014. We’re very fortunate to have Visiting Artist Pablo Luis Rivera with us this quarter to teach the Afro Puerto Rican tradition of bomba. Mark your calendar for a concert to be presented by Sr. Rivera and his students on March 4, 7:30pm, in Brechemin Auditorium.

The UW School of Music presents the annual Ethnomusicology Visiting Artist Concert Tuesday, May 21, 7:30 p.m. in Meany Theater ($20 general, $12 students/seniors). This year’s concert features Hindustani vocalist Srivani Jade and Senegalese drum master Thione Diop.
