The Trends in OPtimization Seminar (TOPS) is an interdepartmental seminar focusing on the broad range of optimization research happening at UW. The seminar is aimed at graduate students from various departments who have basic training in optimization. From the Netflix problem to protein folding to traveling salesmen, this is the place to learn about all the exciting facets of optimization. TOPS will be in SIG 226 on Tuesdays at 4:00pm. Talks will be about fifty minutes long and will be followed by an informal discussion time with tea and cookies. Subscribe to the mailing list to receive reminders about upcoming talks and updates on other optimization related events at UW.
Speaking at TOPS is a great way to share your work with a wide audience and meet possible new collaborators across UW. If you are interested in speaking, contact us at tops at uw dot edu.
