I am an assistant professor in the Depart­ment of Civil and Envi­ron­men­tal Engi­neer­ing at the Uni­ver­sity of Wash­ing­ton in Seattle.

I received my Ph.D. from Texas A&M Uni­ver­sity, an M.S. in civil engi­neer­ing from the Illi­nois Insti­tute of Tech­nol­ogy, and a B.S. in archi­tec­tural stud­ies from the Uni­ver­sity of Illi­nois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to obtain­ing my grad­u­ate degrees, I worked as a project engi­neer and archi­tect on large pub­lic infra­struc­tures such as tran­sit sys­tems, edu­ca­tional facil­i­ties, pub­lic works facil­i­ties, and water infra­struc­ture in the areas of plan­ning, design­ing, con­struc­tion man­age­ment, and green build­ing permitting.
