On February 28, William Nericcio will present a work-in-progress, and deliver a public lecture, “Confessions of a Mexican American Hoarder” or “Prowling the Caucasian Bestiary”: The Existential and Insane Consequences of Collecting Latina/o Artifacts and Stereotypes.” An exhibit of his work, “Mextasy: Seductive Hallucinations of Latina/o Mannequins Prowling the American Unconscious,” will also be shown at the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, Second Floor, at 3931 Brooklyn Ave NE, Seattle, WA.
Seminar participants consider how these works provoke us to think in new ways about aesthetic expressions in Mexican American pop culture.
