Job Description:

Seeking a full time Research Scientist/Engineer II or masters level Graduate Research Assistant for 3-6 months.  An analytical chemist is needed to validate and apply methods for the analysis of disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in treated drinking waters and reverse osmosis concentrates.

This position will support two US EPA analytical contracts. One is the Integrated Disinfection Byproducts Mixtures Research Project, intended to evaluate reproductive and developmental toxicological effects associated with DBP mixtures through an animal model.  The other examines chloramination conditions relevant to natural organic matter concentrates, for application to the aforementioned animal model.

Applicants should have demonstrated problem-solving skills and be willing to work independently.  They will be expected to have weekly progress meetings with the PI and work collaboratively with graduate students and other research staff.

Specific job duties will include sample processing, instrument operation, processing of chromatographic data, quality assurance analysis, reporting of final results for the US EPA, development of presentations and contributing to writing of scientific publications.
