Each year the Beavers, a heavy civil construction group, host a construction tour of a really cool construction project. This year it is literally right beneath us! They are hosting a tour of the Link Light Rail tunnel project that goes from Northgate to the UW. We are limited to 25 tour spots (there are other schools going too) so sign up quickly.
What: Link Light Rail Tunnel Tour (get in the tunnel!)
When: Friday, October 28th from 8:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (officially starts at 9, but I have to pass out vests, etc.)
Where: Meet at the HUB, Room 145
What you need to bring: you, long pants, work boots, shirt with sleeves (no Bro shirts), I will provide safety gear
ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU CAN COMMIT TO ATTEND THE TOUR (don’t take another’s spot then not attend).
If you are in my CEE 307 class that meets from 10:30 – 12:20 on Fridays, you can go (and miss class that day). Trust me.
This is a great opportunity to see a great project and get down inside an actual tunnel project that goes really close to right under More Hall. We have put interns on this project for a couple of years now…see what they are raving about.
