UW SACNAS Meeting – Tuesday Dec. 13

The UW SACNAS chapter would like to invite you to their December meeting, to be held on Tuesday, December 13th at the HUB 145 from 5 – 6 pm. Food will be provided.

SACNAS (The Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) is an inclusive organization whose mission is to promote the success of ALL underrepresented groups in STEM fields. The multi-award winning UW chapter provides a variety of opportunities for professional development in a fun and supporting environment to students (both undergraduates and grad students) of all backgrounds.

The December general meeting will feature a presentation on how to prepare an Individual Development Plan (IDP), a tool that can help you achieve short- and long-term goals, as well as a discussion on stress management tools. In the spirit of the holidays, they will be collecting new toys and items (see attached list) for Mary’s Place, a non-profit that provides support for homeless women, children, and families.

As always, everyone can attend these meetings without commitment; you are welcome to attend a meeting and then decide if you would like to continue participating or not. For chapter event updates, check out the Facebook page.
