The UW College of Engineering is seeking engineering faculty and graduate student volunteers to present engaging educational presentations and activities highlighting their field and research during their summer Mathematics Academy program, (July 9th – Aug 4th).
The Math Academy is a 4-week residential program that targets high achieving underrepresented minority and female students who are interested in engineering, science, and math. Your presentation will help to expose them to engineering as an academic discipline, introduce them to college-level research, and excite them about careers in engineering. Your presentation will also provide an opportunity for broader impact in your research work.
There are two exciting opportunities for you to engage with students:
- OPTION #1: Engineering Exploration Seminars- Introduce students to various fields within engineering by engaging them in hands-on activities.
- OPTION #2: FOCUS Research Exploration Projects- Introduce students to the practical purpose and process of engineering research, particularly at a research institution like the University of Washington.
