TRIAL: NTRL v. 3.0

National Technical Reports Library V 3.0 is now available in trial until August 24, 2012

Send comments to Cass Hartnett

The NTRL V3.0 contains the meta-data of over 2.7 million scientific and technical reports, with access to approximately 740,000 of these reports in full-text. The collection is arranged by 39 Subject Categories and 375 Sub-categories. The system is updated on a weekly basis with new content acquired by NTIS and extant content recently converted to digital format. Within the past few weeks we updated the NTRL V3.0 with over 195K pre-1964 thin meta-data records. This retrospective conversion of paper-formatted catalog cards to digital meta-data, on a variety of subjects, represents the culmination of a significant investment of resources by NTIS to enhance the value of the content collection of the NTRL V3.0. Although NTIS does not offer full-text availability for many of these meta-data records, in the interest of providing our subscribers greater potential of discoverability, they have been integrated among the existing NTRL V3.0 content.

As a complement to the NTRL V3.0, we also offer a monthly digital publication, The NTRL Newsletter which is available at no cost to NTRL V3.0 subscribers and the general public. Each month we feature NTRL V3.0 content by theme or subject category as representative of the wide scope of the NTRL V3.0 content collection. To sign-up for a free subscription, please go to
