SPL Volunteer Opportunity for Homework Help

Homework Help volunteer opportunities at The Seattle Public Library – apply by July 25th!

The Seattle Public Library is seeking Homework Help volunteers who have a passion for helping elementary, middle and high school students succeed in school.

Our dedicated volunteers enable children and teens to develop literacy and math skills, understand homework assignments and prepare for college. Volunteers tutor students in various academic subjects and may also specialize in English, math and science.

Most of the students attend elementary and middle schools. Volunteers interact with children and teens in small groups and individually. For more information, please read the attached Homework Helper volunteer service description and watch a short video about Homework Help.

We request a volunteer commitment for the entire school year. Volunteers will be scheduled to provide Homework Help once a week when Seattle’s public schools are in session. Those volunteers who have variable job and/or school schedules can be scheduled as substitute Homework Helpers at least twice a month.

Homework Help will be offered at the following Library locations from Sept. 10, 2018 through June 13, 2019. Volunteers who have math tutoring skills are especially needed at all locations.
