You think classes should be cancelled due to severe weather:
- There may be times when situations like inclement weather, power outages, earthquakes, etc., impact operations and/or students’ and faculty members’ ability to be present for scheduled coursework. In these types of situations, the University will determine whether it will officially close.
- Classes or examinations at Alaska WWAMI will be canceled only if the University has issued a decision to close via the local news media (KTUU, KTVA, A.D.N., Alaska Public Radio Network, etc.), the UAA homepage, UAA social media (twitter/UAA facebook), UAA email, or its information hotline, (907-786-1800) and the UA Alert system (Please visit http://uaalert.alaska.edu to make sure your phone and text numbers are up to date.)
- Students and Site Leads will also be notified of University closures by the Block | FCM Administrator via email. The Block | FCM Administrator will also consult with the Site Lead and Associate Dean for Curriculum on rescheduling of required coursework and will email students. The Site Lead will notify faculty.
