Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation: Graduate Scholarships

The Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, Inc. (EAF) provides funds to advance education in fulfillment of its mission: “To promote life-long learning.” This is accomplished by securing charitable funds to award scholarships and grants. The Foundation is a source of support to graduate students, post freshman students and non-profit organizations serving diverse beneficiaries. Foundation scholarships and grants are awarded without regard to gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.

Each year Alpha Kappa Alpha offers Graduate Merit and Graduate Financial Need Scholarships.

To be eligible for the Merit Scholarship, a one-year one-time only award, the applicant must:

  • Be a full-time student (i.e. full-time enrollment for 2020);
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution;
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (“B” average);
  • Demonstrate community service and involvement.

To be eligible for the Financial Need Scholarship, a one-year one-time only award, the applicant must:

  • Be a full-time student (i.e. full-time enrollment for fall 2020);
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited degree-granting institution;
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 (“C+” average);
  • Demonstrate community service and involvement.

Graduate students may apply for both awards, but they will only be awarded one scholarship. Also, there are no citizenship restrictions for these awards.
