Come join an interdisciplinary team dedicated to promoting collaboration among public and private sectors to enhance coordinated traffic mobility management. The ​Center for Collaborative Systems for Safety, Security and Regional Resilience​ (CoSSaR) is seeking a Research Assistant experienced in agile software development to contribute to the development of the Virtual Coordination Center (VCC) for Multimodal Integrated Corridor Management. This $8.5M project brings together regional stakeholders from public and private sectors to develop a transformative, cloud-based working environment that will allow responders across agencies to see incidents as they happen, coordinate responses and distribute unified public messages.

Under the guidance of the design & development lead, the successful candidate will gather and analyze largely qualitative data to inform iterative design and redesign of a complex, multi-stakeholder cloud-based work environment. This opening is for the 2021 Spring Quarter with opportunities to continue involvement with the project through September 2023. This position includes standard GRSA salary, health insurance, and tuition remission.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities will include:

● Develop materials to guide the development of the VCC. Materials may include personae, user stories, stakeholder interview notes, workshop plans, and more.

● Translate data gathered from data collection to use in a project backlog that will drive the implementation of the integrated CAD, incident log and map-view capabilities.

● Contribute to gathering baseline data to use in future evaluation processes.

● Complete other duties as assigned to support the Design & Development team.

Secondary responsibilities may include:

● Prepare materials for Human Subjects Review Board

● Recruit and interview subjects

● Write articles, reports and/or presentations

● Review literature

● Prepare grants materials for submission

● Prepare materials for experimental use

● Keep accurate records of experimental data

● Provide ready access to all experimental data for P.I. and/or supervisor ● Manage and respond to experiment-related email
