Assistant Director for Campus Utilities Mark Kirschenbaum leads a tour on the roof of the new West Campus Utility Plant.
The new ‘big white box’ in the south campus area comes with a success story bigger than the building itself. In April 2017, Facilities Services (FS) successfully launched the new West Campus Utility Plant (WCUP) to help with future energy needs in south and west part of the Seattle campus. Besides being a big success for energy resilience and functionality going forward, it also the first Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) certified Envision Gold project at any higher education institution and the first building to be certified at any college or university. Congrats to the FS team and to UW!
