Go Dawgs! Wednesday | Student Athlete Success

This has to be one of our favorite Go Dawgs! Wednesday posts yet because it’s a perfect example of how world class students (in particular, student-athletes), faculty, and staff work together to make the UW one of the best universities in the world.

In Winter 2018, Husky student-athletes set a new department record, with 21 out of 22 teams achieving above a 3.0 GPA and 135 student-athletes made the Dean’s List. Clearly, the hardest work in this achievement was accomplished by students, but outstanding faculty along with Student-Athlete Academic Services staff are a major part of such a success. And how about UW Athletics operations staff? They consistently deliver effective and efficient training facilities and programs that allow student-athletes to succeed in so many invisible ways.

One of the goals for GoodBiz is to showcase efforts that help attract the best and most innovative students, faculty, staff, and funders to the UW and this big win does exactly that. Congrats to champion student-athletes and to the faculty and staff that support them in this accomplishment!
