Husky Habits | #18 – Bike Share Here, There and Everywhere

Whether you’d like to commute to campus by bike or just take a quick ride around the city, Seattle’s bike sharing programs are a great way to get out there and get riding. You can pick up the yellow, orange, and green bikes from anywhere on campus or around Seattle, using a mobile app to locate and unlock the bikes. You can leave them wherever your final destination is, as long as you find a legal bike parking space. Biking has never been more convenient! There’s even electric options that can give you an extra boost up Seattle’s hills. Sign up with your uw.edu email address to get 50% off your ride!

Ready to make the jump to owning your own bike? Check out Recycled Cycles or Bike Works. They both sell refurbished used bikes in great condition. Whether riding a rented bike or your own, don’t forget to always follow the rules of the road, wear a helmet, and yield to pedestrians.
