I am Associate Professor in the Jackson School of International Studies, where I also serve as Chair and Director of the South Asia Studies Center and Program. I am also adjunct associate professor in the Political Science department, faculty associate in the Harry Bridges Center for Labor Studies and the Center for Environmental Politics, and an affiliate faculty member in the Comparative History of Ideas (CHID).

My teaching and research focus on the politics and political economy of India and South Asia, history and politics of energy and electricity, development studies, and the history and present-day manifestations of capitalism.
