Aric Rininger

AricAric has been a graduate student in the Van Volkenburgh laboratory since 2013. He is most interested in exploring the relationship between cell and organismal physiology.

Aric endeavors to elucidate the signal transduction of phototropin blue light receptors, their effects on cell division and growth, and their resultant impact on leaf expansion.

Many responsive behaviors in plants serve to modify the direction or rate of growth. Aric hopes that focusing on phototropin-mediated growth responses will allow for a deeper understanding of how plants sense, interpret, and respond to the world around them.
