You’ve been admitted, now what?

Congratulations on your admission to the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department’s graduate program!

If you are accepting admission, and have not indicated that in your online application yet, please do so as soon as possible so we will know your intention.  Students who have not been offered funding by the department, we would like your decision by June 1st if at all possible so we can finalize admissions. If you need an extension to that deadline, please let us know by emailing us at

After you have accepted admission, be sure to check your status page for next steps that need to be completed prior to registration/enrollment.

International applicants, after indicating your intention to attend, you will receive information regarding what the Graduate School needs in order to process your I-20. They will not begin that process until you have indicated you are accepting admission in your application.

Non-thesis Master’s students (except Construction Engineering) should receive an Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD) form from the Professional and Continuing Education (PCE) office by email within two weeks after accepting admission.

The Registrar’s Office will send the form to research track master’s and PhD students (and Construction Engineering students) by postal mail within a week after being offered admission.

The enrollment deposit is $250 and will be credited to your student account your first quarter of enrollment. The enrollment deposit is non-refundable, and cannot be credited to any other quarter.

After your deposit has been received, you be given instructions for setting up your UW NetID and UW Email account.
