Victor Lee is a 5th year graduate student in the McCoy group from San Francisco, CA. He did his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Merced and was a member in the Hratchian group. Outside of lab, he enjoys hanging out with friends, doing outdoorsy things around the Seattle area such as skiing and hiking, and travelling anywhere when he gets an opportunity to do so.
Research Interests: He is using Diffusion Monte Carlo to study the nuclear quantum effects of neutral water clusters, in particular the water hexamer. Studying these clusters can be computationally demanding, so he has developed a method to drastically reduce the ensemble sizes needed to obtain reliable results.
