Assistant Professor of Communication (Speech, Language, and Hearing Science) Position (Rhode Island College)

The Department of Communication at Rhode Island College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for Fall 2019 to teach and develop courses in the Speech, Language, and Hearing Science (SLHS) concentration. Final appointment is subject to available funding.

The Department of Communication serves approximately 350 majors in Media Communication, Public and Professional Communication, PR/Ad, and Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. The Assistant Professor, Communication, Speech, Language, and Hearing Science will teach and develop courses including introductory and advanced level SLHS courses as well as assist with student advising.


  • Ph.D.* in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Audiology, Linguistics or related field
  • ABD considered and professional experience as appropriate to the individual discipline

*NOTE:  If no successful candidate is identified, applicants holding a master’s degree in Speech Pathology with CCC may be considered for a one-year limited term appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Speech Pathology or Audiology and evidence of effective teaching.
