Research Assistant at UW Tacoma

The Education program at UW Tacoma is seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to work with the Communities of Practice for Teaching English Language Learners grant. This professional development grant is funded by the US Department of Education and represents collaboration among the Education Program at UWT, the OSPI, the PSESD, and several local school districts.

Responsibilities include:

–  Conducting curriculum and course content revisions; working with the Program Specialist and PI to revise and align syllabi per grant requirements.

–  Assisting Project Specialist and PI with implementation of group training for cooperating teachers (e.g., editing teacher handbooks, assisting with production of educational materials, or analysis of assessment data).

Requirements:

– Have a broad understanding of contemporary issues in education.

– Awareness of Common Core state standards.

– Dependable and organized.

– Proficient in use of MS Office products.

Practical experience in implementing strategies for English Language Learners is desirable, but not required.

RA will work on-site at the UW Tacoma campus.
