EIP Presidential Scholars Program – App Deadline: July 6th

 Program Benefits

  • Scholarship Award (amount will be based on current funding levels – previous awards have ranged from $3,500 – $4,500)
  • Year-long undergraduate research seminar and presentation opportunities
  • One-on-one pre-graduate advising and graduate application preparation
  • Multidisciplinary research community

Eligibility

  • Affiliated with the Early Identification Program (easy to become affiliated – just email us at eip@uw.edu to set up a quick appointment!)
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Minimum 125 credits completed as of Spring Quarter 2015
  • At least one full academic year remaining before graduating
  • Plans to conduct undergraduate research all three quarters of the 2015-16 academic year
  • Plans to pursue graduate school
  • All majors are encouraged to apply!

17th Annual UW Undergraduate Research Symposium

The 17th Annual UW Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held on May 16, 2014 in Mary Gates Hall. UW President Michael K. Young will give the event welcome at 11am (full schedule below).

This year, more than 1,100 undergraduates will present their work. The 2014 Symposium will also feature the inaugural Visual Arts & Design Showcase.

EIP/McNair Scholars/GO-MAP Graduate Recruitment Fair

The EIP, McNair Scholars, and GO-MAP programs are once again sponsoring a Graduate School Recruitment Fair for UW students. This year, the Recruitment Fair will take place in Mary Gates Hall on Thursday, May 15, the day before the Undergraduate Research Symposium. The event runs from noon-3pm and includes raffle prizes.  OPEN TO ALL!

Scholarship Opportunity: EIP Presidential Scholarship

Description:
The Presidential Scholarship is intended to support students who have clearly demonstrated scholastic achievement, an interest in research, and graduate degree goals. The award will be for the 2013-2014 academic year. Upon receipt of the award, students will be expected to submit a formal research proposal, conduct three consecutive quarters of research, meet regularly with the EIP staff, present their year’s work at the joint Early Identification/McNair Program Annual Spring Research Conference and concurrent Undergraduate Research Symposium, and comply with the other requirements of Presidential Scholars. Awards are contingent upon the continued availability of funds.

Eligibility:
An applicant should be either an Early Identification Program or Ronald E. McNair Program student who:
1. Is interested in conducting a research project with the supervision of a faculty member for the three
consecutive quarters of the 2013-2014 academic year;
2. Plans to attend graduate school; and
3. Has a minimum of 125 credits.
Priority given to students with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and who regularly use the services of the EIP/McNair programs.
