OMSFA Web Content Intern for Winter Quarter

OMSFA is hiring a web content development intern for Winter Quarter!

 

The OMSFA Web Content Development Intern will collaborate with Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships and Awards (OMSFA) program staff to develop more robust online tutorials and tools for prospective and current undergraduates searching for scholarships. In particular, the intern will develop and create online guides and short video tutorials providing tips and guidance on strategies for using OMSFA’s scholarship database and searching for scholarships in general.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing and designing web content and video content related to searching for scholarships
  • Recruiting and interviewing students and alumni to share their advice on searching and applying for scholarships via video, audio and/or text
  • Learning about and implementing best practices to ensure accessibility for all audiences

 

Internship learning goals:

  • Gain experience with WordPress, professional writing, and volunteer recruitment.
  • Learn to apply your knowledge of video creation to a professional setting and to adjust your messaging to support diverse audiences.
  • Develop skills in project management, contributing your creative ideas to the collaboration, seeking input and feedback, adjusting, implementing and carrying them through to produce a final product.
  • Gain knowledge of scholarship opportunities to incorporate into your own academic experiences. Learn about the benefits of applying for scholarships that can support your future goals.

 

Qualifications:

  • Background or exposure to marketing, outreach, writing or related fields
  • Experience in video creation, editing, and sharing on websites or social media a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest or experience in creating outreach materials to support diverse audiences
